What is an Increment in Scrum?

An increment is a stepping stone towards a (software) product. At the end of a Sprint in Scrum, the team should deliver an increment that is potentially shippable and meets the Definition of Done. In each Sprint, the team can extend the product by adding to the increment. That means that an increment can take multiple sprints to be finished.

At the latest, at end of each Sprint the increment is presented in the Sprint Review giving the Scrum Team and stakeholder the opportunity to reflect, give feedback, and adapt where needed. The team can also do this inspect and adapt during the Sprint.
